I can

Sunday, April 28, 2013
So my lovely friend Nicole made a blogpost awhile ago with some of the things she could do. I thought "hey, I can do stuff!" so today I'm sharing my list with some of the things I can do.

I can salsa.
I can stay up for almost 3 days after being on a plane for 12 hours.
I can spend money really quickly.
I can do a cartwheel.
I can push through thousands of people to get from one stage to another at ACL.
I can make an awesome breakfast.
I can eat. A lot.
I can make any baby smile.
I can be really sarcastic.
I can understand Yourba, to an extent.
I can sing any Florence + The Machine song from Ceremonials.
I can remember the most random facts about people.
I can remember most peoples middle names.
I can eat an entire burrito from chipotle without spilling a grain of rice.
I can design really simple things in photoshop.
I can draw whales and owls pretty well.
I can almost recite the Great Dictator speech.
I can interpret r-squared. (I'm a statistics nerd)

That's some of the things I can do. What can you do?

Maroon+Stripes

Blazer + Pants + Rings: H&M | Shirt: Forever 21 | Shoes: ALDO

It really is great to have a professional photographer as a brother.

I was determined to wear these maroon pants that I got from H&M this past winter. I figured that they would be a nice contrast to an otherwise monochrome look. I love anything with stripes but this top from Forever 21 is way too big and it's baggy around the arms. Thinking about it now, I don't have very many plain nice tops. I've kinda set a personal goal to only buy things that fit well and that I really love. It's hard to find things that fit me exactly how I want them to and I have absolutely no experience with tailoring items.

Enough with my complaints. Can we please take a moment to talk about my shoes?! ALDO Foliroli oxfords, I have waited over a year to own you and now, you sweet, precious shoes, you are finally mine to love and cherish. These babies are super comfortable and go with anything and everything. I love how slim they are and the fact that they're suede (I have a soft spot for suede shoes). You will be seeing these shoes a lot as well as this new-ish blazer. It fits me like a glove, and for only $25? I couldn't resist.

Music Madness #7

Monday, April 22, 2013
I've gotten to that part of the school year where my poor little brain feels like it's going to explode.
The yearbook is finally finished after many late hours at school, and I aced my last stats test that I was for sure I would fail. For once it's actually really good to be wrong. Second round of state testing is coming up really soon, so right now is the calm before the storm. I really just need a week to relax and take things easy and this weeks playlist should help.

To the Basement People... Two Door Cinema Club + Robert DeLong Concert

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

 Front row baby.
Robert DeLong making me freaking dance.

I kid you not, this woman was knitting while they were getting ready.

I would also like to state the fact that I got to hit a balloon twice.

Super hip tumblr girl concert outfit.
Last tuesday, I squeezed into some high-waisted shorts and got ready to see the one and only, Two Door Cinema Club. For those of you who haven't heard their heavenly beats, and all of you should have considering the fact that I dedicated a whole 'Music Madness' to them, I highly recommend that you go and do so now.

They were playing for two nights at Stubb's, a pretty small venue when it comes to concerts. Of course I was in the very front, when it comes to music, I do not mess around. Robert DeLong was the opening act and he blew. my. mind. I would say that his genre is electronic/House with maybe a hint of indie? Anyway, he flipping blew my mind when he started using a Wii controller and an old-school joystick to make music. Yep, HE MOVED A WII REMOTE AND A JOYSTICK TO TRIGGER SOUNDS.
It was awesome. Don't believe me? Watch this video.

You honestly don't how how I felt when Two Door Cinema Club Finally appeared on stage. Like any other person obsessed with a band, I already knew the setlist and wasn't surprised when they opened with Sleep Alone. They ended up playing 19 songs, more than I expected, but I can't complain. I think I stopped hearing out of my left ear around song five... (I was right in front of the speakers). I nearly lost it when they started playing Sun. I filmed the end of it and the sound quality sucks because I was in front of the speakers and you can hear my craptastic concert yell-singing, but it still makes me feel magical.

"And I know, and I know that I'm in love with you."

DIY High-Low Top

Thursday, April 11, 2013

DIY, High Low, High-Low Shirt, Easy DIY
Since warmer weather is supposedly on the way, the rain and 54º weather says otherwise, I've been looking for shirts that are cute, but still really easy to wear when the weather gets unbearable. Since almost every t-shirt is too big for me, I decided to turn a few of them into sleeveless high-low tops that would look great with some high-waisted shorts and converse, you know, if you want to channel your inner "Tumblr girl".
1. Fold your shirt in half so that the arm holes are on top of each other and in the middle. Try to keep it as even as possible!

2. Draw a curved line from the front of the shirt all the way to the bottom seam on the back of the shirt. Make sure that you know which side is the front! Feel free to cut off as much as you want. If you want the front to be more like a crop top, start your line higher.
3. Cut on the line you made and you're done!
Wasn't that simple? I forgot to take pictures of what it looks like on, but I will definitely be doing an outfit post with this in the near future!

Music Madness #5

It's Monday morning and I feel like a headless chicken. On the bright side, I'm going to see Two Door Cinema Club tomorrow, so enjoy some of my favorite songs by them while I try to make it through the day.

Easter.

Thursday, April 4, 2013
Dress: Old Navy | Necklace: H&M | Shoes: Payless (On Sale!)

This week has been a mess. Easter came, Monday and Tuesday were basically blow-off days at school,  one of the buildings at our school flooded and was deemed unsafe but we still had to take our STAAR (State Test), and today (Thursday) I have to take another STAAR test. Also did I mention that I've been staying late almost everyday for the past week because of stupid yearbook deadlines? I think it's safe to say that this week has been the craziest week this whole year. I'm still working on getting some posts up from Spring Break and TEDxYouth@Austin (which was AWESOME by the way).

I'm far too tired to write anything intellectual or witty about my outfit, so I'll just let y'all ooh and ahh over this super sweet dress I picked up from Old Navy over spring break.

5 March Favorites

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

1. Urban Outfitters Nail Polish in Smoke- This grayish lavender color is perfect for the spring! It was opaque in about 1-2 coats and would look good on anyone!

2. Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle- This stuff has brought my hair back to life. I think this is probably my fourth or fifth bottle of this stuff. It's really thick and makes my hair significantly softer after each use. My hair is incredibly damaged and I hope, with continuous use, that this can get my hair back to a healthier state!

3. Gold Rings from H&M- I don't think I can go a day without wearing at least one of these rings. They good with everything for every occasion. I always feel the need to wear rings, because if I don't my hands feel naked.

4. Fiji Passionfruit Body Spray- I'm pretty sure I bought this two years ago and I'm just barely finishing it! I has a really nice and fruity scent that conjures up summertime memories.

5. Iced Coffee (In a mason jar of course)- You know you've been on Pinterest too much when you use mason jars for everything. I have no valid reason for drinking so much iced coffee this month, except for the fact that it tastes really good, and I can put it in a mason jar.

What are five things you're been loving this past month?
