The official birthday countdown has begun! Next Saturday, I’ll finally be turning sixteen! I feel like this time period has been really weird for me. I have lots of challenging classes, run my blog, and I’m so focused on college and the future that I feel like I’m a mini adult. But I’m still so young. It just clicked that when I start senior year, I’ll just be turning seventeen. Weird, huh?
Obviously, when my birthday comes around, everyone starts asking that dreaded question: “what do you want for your birthday?” This might be just me, but I hate answering that question. Of course, I have some things that I would want for my birthday, but unless you’re my parents, I feel really uncomfortable asking people for specific things, especially if they have a high price tag. I’m usually more of a I’ll take cash or a gift card to Target/H&M/Bath & Body/ etc, but it’s always nice to make a little wish list, I mean, I do it every Wednesday anyways!
I’ve been lusting after a necklace from J.Crew and when I saw that my favorite boutique had it for a fourth of the price, I’ve had my eyes on it since. It would be perfect with simple tops or dresses and would be great if I was going out. I’ve also had my heart set on an iPhone ever since it came out. I’m super jealous of iPhone users who get all the cool apps first and get all the cheap and pretty phone cases. It’s not fair I say! This year I’ve become obsessed with rings, and delicate, personal jewelry. This ring is adorable, small, simple, and best of all, handmade! Another thing I’ve had my eyes on, are a new pair of glasses or contacts (pun completely intended).
*begin rant* I used to use contacts, but I was too lazy to get my prescription renewed, plus they’re so dang expensive! My glasses are constantly getting in the way of everything, I can’t lay on my side to watch tv, I can’t wear cute sunglasses, the struggle is 110% real y’all. Also, I broke my glasses that I got from Firmoo and I’ve resorted to wearing my old glasses which is a problem for two reasons. One, they are too small from my face and makes it nearly impossible to look up without raising my head at and awkward angle, which I’ve noticed reallllly sucks when you’re sitting down in class. And two, they have transition lenses. I don’t know what made me get transition lenses, but my advice is to NEVER EVER GET TRANSITION LENSES. LIKE, EVER. You will look stupid when you’re outside, you will look stupid right when you get inside, and these stupid lenses don’t even get dark enough to provide adequate coverage from the sun anyways. *end rant*
Despite anthropology being ridiculously overpriced, they have the cutest mugs! I’m already thinking about everything and anything fall, and one of my favorite things to do once the weather drops (which is hopefully soon) is to drink tea or hot chocolate all day long and sit in bed doing absolutely nothing. The last thing on my list are these Vans from a J.Crew collab. Are they really freaking cute? Yup. Do I need another pair of shoes? Nope. Do I still want them anyways? Yup.
So that’s my birthday wish list! I feel like this might have been my longest post yet… Now, excuse me while I send this to every person I know.
