Vintage Floral

 I can't believe I went a whole five days without posting! I've really been freaking out lately because all of my teachers decided to give me tests all week. What's even worse is the fact that I had my AP Stats test and my AP World test on the same day; I'm surprised that I can even function right now. Anywho, I put together this extremely basic outfit to wear this past sunday. I love this floral skirt from Forever 21 but I think I've only worn it at most 4 times! Such a shame for such a beautiful print! I felt like this outfit was very "60's housewife-ish." Big curly hair, Round sunglasses, pearl earrings, I think I channeled my inner Jackie O with this one.

My It Colors for 2013

Everyone has those set of colors that they're always attracted to. You know what works and what doesn't. For me, I can't stand wearing the color purple unless it's a bright fuchsia; same with the color pink, I'll only do coral. I know that navy looks fab on my skin and that pops of neon are always lovely. I've noticed that most of my outfits are pretty neutral but with random bits of color mixed in. These are my "It" colors; what are yours?

Black, Grey, White, Navy, Tan, Peach

My sleeping pattern has been totally off this week. I somehow managed to go 18 hours on only two hours of sleep. In order to compensate on how tired I looked, I decided to dress up a bit more that usual for school. I think this is the first time I've actually worn a dress to school. I love this little lace dress that I picked up from Target a few months ago. The color perfect for spring and summer but is also a nice addition to the bland colors of winter. My favorite part about the dress is the exposed yellow gold zipper in the back which you couldn't see unfortunately. I kept the rest of the outfit really simple but I tossed on some red lipstick and the gorgeous Prada inspired sunglasses for an extra polished look.

Simple Sunday

Long time no see! I feel like I should take "fashion blog" out from under my header because I've really been slacking in the fashion posts! :( I really wish I could do OOTD's everyday but that's hard considering the fact that I wear a uniform four days out of the week (ha bet you didn't know that!) Any who, I've gone back to hell school and I'm working really hard on sticking to my blogging schedule! I think I've spent a bit too much time on me so lets turn the focus to what you actually care about, the outfit!

Don't let my warm smile deceive you; I froze my little butt of when taking these pictures. It finally feels like winter here in Central Texas but for some odd reason that doesn't stop me from dressing like its early fall. I couldn't decide on what to wear to church this past sunday so I went with my typical easy and cute outfit. Cardigan+ Nice Tank Top+ Jeans+ Boots+ Crossbody Bag= Perfect outfit everytime.

 

 My favorite part about this top is the lace detailing at the bottom. The actually shirt is a little bit short so that the lace covers that last inch of skin over your belly. I also really love this bag because it brings out the red in my shirt and it adds some texture to an otherwise plain outfit.

Music Madness #3

So, this weekend I fell in love with Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis. I feel like I'm a bit late for this bandwagon but nonetheless I finally joined and I have no regrets. I love Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis because their lyrics are so real. The took a completely different approach to rap which is really refreshing. I would say that most of their songs are deep and slower paced although they do have a few 'fun' and more upbeat songs.

American Apparel Nail Lacquer in California Trooper

My all time favorite nail polish! This color is a really simple yellow toned beige that goes with everything. It looks clean and polished with every outfit and works really well with other colors if you like to do nail art or an accent nail. It's opaque in one coat but, I use two coats because of the ridges on my nails. With a good topcoat, this should last at least 3 days without any chipping. All of the American Apparel Nail Lacquers I have tried are very opaque and true to color. They retail for $6 but they have an ongoing deal of 3 for $15 which in my opinion isn't bad at all considering the quality and color selection. Have you tried any other American Apparel nail lacquers? Which ones are your favorites?

The It Color Of 2013

Move over Tangerine Tango, Emerald has been dubbed Color of the Year by color connoisseur Pantone. Pantone describes emerald as "Lively. Radiant. Lush... A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony." I love emerald because it works for every season.  It looks great with lighter colors in the spring, perfect for color blocking or showing off tanned skin in the summer, it blends well with earthy colors in the fall time, and it looks absolutely stunning with reds, plums and golds during the winter. 

I definitely have my eye on some emerald colored items like shift dresses, shorts, skinny trousers and scarves! How do you plan on wearing emerald this year?
