{Favorite Trends From 2011}

Monday, December 26, 2011
2011 was a big year for me, especially fashion wise. My style has done a complete 180... okay maybe more like a 90 but still, my style has evolved and developed a lot this year. I owe this style revolution to many of the trends that occurred this past year. Just because the year is ending doesn't mean that those trends are gonna die out. Here are a few that I intend to wear well into the new year.

Nautical-
Nautical aka my new obsession. The nautical trend was a big hit in the summer because of the fact that it's so effortless and simple. Navy, white, red and gold are the main colors that fuel this trend. Stripes, ropes/knots and anchors are also a few main staples for the nautical trend.

Tribal Print-
Tribal prints crude lines and vivid colors helped it become a major summer trend. I love tribal printed skirts with a simple top or loose racerback tribal printed tank tops! Tribal prints are a statement of their own which makes them very easy to work with. All you need are some solid colored pieces to make an outfit!

Color Blocking-
Color blocking is extremely simple and packs a punch. I love seeing neutral tans paired with bold neon colors! It's simple yet sophisticated. It's a bold new approach on color combinations.

Minimalism-
With the minimalism trend color and cut is everything. We all know about my love for minimalism! Bold yet simple color palettes make this trend very summer appropriate. UK Vouge describes the trend as "Simplicity and luxury combine to elegant effect" Well said.

Keep Shining,

As I begin typing this post it is 12/22/2011 at 12:13 AM. Christmas is only 3 days away. I'm currently sitting here in my new chair, at my new desk as it drizzles outside. I haven't done a 'Personal Post' in quite some time! It feels kinda good just to type out my thoughts and post it. Almost as if I'm getting rid of anything that is currently bothering my mind. I'm sick at the moment and have a runny/congested nose. I've been kinda bumming it (you know, the usual) and the fact that I'm on winter break doesn't help. I know I haven been posting very often on here and I really do apologize but my head is constantly thinking about spring/summer. Its been very rainy and grey here and I'm not a fan (Last time I checked I didn't live in Seattle!) I'm craving a pair of denim shorts and a sunny day. I'm actually compiling a list of things to buy this year. Y'all know that I'm on Operation Minimalist and I'm trying to get rid of a ton of stuff but, clothing is one area where I cannot resist. I could honestly spend a whole day online window shopping, and I do. If I buy anything in 2012 is better be clothes!  I feel like I had a lot to say in this post but all I really want to do now is curl up in my bed and do some major writing in my journal. Anyways, sorry for the lack of an interesting post.

Untitled #54

Why I like It: I could just imagine riding down the street looking at all the lights. It's simple and cozy. Nothing too special.
