Holiday Dorm Decor

Monday, December 28, 2015
I think the worst part about the holidays being over is taking down all the decorations. I love decorating in general and decorating for Christmas will forever be my favorite part of winter. I'm really glad that my roommates feel the same way and shared my enthusiasm about decorating our dorm room! We use the string lights as our main lighting and will keep them year round, but we pulled out all the stops with out mini christmas tree, fake candles, stockings, snowflakes, and my favorite part, our own little gold christmas tree that I made out of washi tape on our wall right when you walk in.

We keep our door open 95% of the time and I love it when people pop their head in to check out the room or when I can hear people say "I wish my room looked like that" or "omg their room is so cute" when they walk by.

I know that by the time I head back to school, the holidays will be long gone, but I'm secretly hoping that my roommates will be down to keep the decorations up for a little while longer, or that they'll at least let me keep playing Michael Buble's christmas album on repeat.

Photo Diary: Christmas on 5th Avenue

Monday, December 21, 2015
It's the most wonderful time of the year! I'm already back home, but I had to make sure that I got the chance to walk down 5th avenue to see all the christmas lights and decorations! Decorating the house and seeing light and decorations everywhere is why I love this time of year so much and New York did not disappoint.

All Layered Up

Tuesday, December 15, 2015
Sweater: Gap // Denim Jacket: Aeropostale // Jeans: Cotton On // Scarf: Old Navy // Shoes: Kohl's // Bag: Old Navy

What a mild winter it's been here in New York! I love the fact that it's not bitterly cold yet, but I honestly wish that the weather would stop being so bipolar. I never know what to expect when I go out so layers are always my go to. I wore this to go ice skating in Bryant Park with my friends and it was your quintessential New York experience. Huge decorated christmas tree in the background, vendors selling hot chocolate, me trying to not faceplant on the ice or run over a small child, exactly what you'd expect haha.

I haven't worn my denim jacket in a while, but I realized that it is the perfect thing to layer over an already cozy sweater for a bit more warmth and to make an outfit feel more thoughtful and put together. This scarf was one of my few black friday purchases and I'm pretty sure I wore it for a week straight! It's super warm, but I'm still trying to find ways to wear it without having to fix it every two seconds. I just decided to drape it over my shoulders making me look slightly like Bender from The Breakfast Club.

Good move, Toyosi. Good move.

Currently Listening to...

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Listen to when: you're studying for finals, you're trying to relax and ignore your responsibilities, you've been listening to Michael Buble's christmas album for the past month and you want something different, or when you want to listen to some smooth tunes on a chilly winter day.

Photo Diary // Central Park in November

Thursday, December 3, 2015
Took a trip up to central park about a month ago to see it before the leaves all fell! If you ever try to plan a trip to NYC, I suggest that you make it during the fall time. The weather is great, and you get to see the city in all its autumnal beauty– but I may be a bit biased, the first time I ever came to the city was in the fall so this time holds some special memories.
